Jason Kottke has a fun little post on Line Rider, a new online game/art form. This video is great.
Stephen Wiltshire is an amazing autistic artist. In this video, he draws a panorama of Rome from memory. For more details, I highly recommend reading Oliver Sacks’ book An Anthropologist on Mars, which has a chapter devoted to Stephen.
Beautiful visualizations of flight patterns across the US.
Richard Dawkins on TedTalks explains how our size affects our model of the world. One idea that particularly struck me is that something as fundamental as the concept of “solid” might simply be a useful interpretation, biologically evolved. Video about how an internal combustion works. The wonders of technology!
Another wonderful Sony Bravia ad — although I still like the Balls commercial better, mainly because of the music.
A couple of good commercials: solar power and human katamari. And as a bonus, a little something about truth in advertising.
Video of a lighter igniting in slow motion.
