
You may have noticed that I haven’t posted any links recently. Unfortunately my computer had a major crash a week ago, and I’ve been struggling to put everything back in order. It’s in a semi-stable state now, so I’ll resume posting tomorrow.

Yikes! I got one of those errors a number of years ago when I was coding some low level graphics stuff. It was my fault, but it was still pretty unpleasant. My solution was to simply get a second hard drive and routinely clone the primary drive to a backup (weekly), so that if there is a HD failure, or I do something stupid, one can always go back to the backup.
Yeah, I did that too, but some of my backup was corrupt. I think some files were touched while the copy was happening. Blah…
